Montana Bans TikTok : Becoming the first US state to do so.
The Montage Governor Greg Gianforte announced on Wednesday the ban of Tiktok in their state. Becoming the first United State to do so.
According to the Jamal Brown the spokesperson of Tiktok there are more than 2,00,000 users of Tiktok present in the state.
And there is no confirmation of it’s ban in the state yet. The government believes that the platform may misuse their users information from the state.
Due to it is an China based company, the government and the FBI and CIA are worried about the national security.
As per Tiktok representative they say that they don’t share their users data with anyone even if someone ask for it.
The government is planning to ban the app from app store and will fine $10,000/day if someone tries to use the app. And this penalty will be applied to Google and Apple as they operate Playstore and Appstore.
The ban will be placed on the app after January 2024.
